Chassis: Mark Shingler,
Mark Shingler's 1966 GTO
Mark's story: I bought my '66 GTO in 97 while stationed in New Mexico and slowly worked on all the mechanicals to get it to daily driver reliable status and boy did I ever enjoy the daily driver part. I Drag raced it in El Paso and at Roswell several times. Lots of fun road trips. Everyone should road trip in a GTO at least once in their lives! Even though the paint is shot, people still complemented the car most everywhere I went. Got orders to Italy in 2001 and actually tried to sell it but got no serious bites. Guess $7000 was too steep for a driver class 66 GTO. Yeah, try and find that now! So I stored it and sure am glad I kept it now. Engine is out for a rebuild (last was in 84) and will be looking for more power & reliability. Once thats done, itll be time for paint and a fresh interior. Ill never really be done with this car, Im sure Ill always be able to find things to spend money on!
