Skip Fix's 455

To the right is Skip's 455 Pontiac block bored .040 over and topped with Edelbrock aluminum heads. This past summer (2000) Skip along with other Pontakers (that included Floyd Hand whose LeMans is also featured on this site) participated in High Performance Pontiac magazine's "Pavement Pounders Shootout" held at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas. Coverage of the shootout appears in the December 2000 issue of HPP. Skip's 3735 pound black TA ran 11.92 @ 113.30 in the blistering100-degree summer heat. Traction was not good. The TA's quickest 60' time was 1.71 seconds. The pertinent tech data on Skips new 455 is below.

Check out Skip's earlier d-port 400 engine.
